Step1
Drive to Castleton Square Mall, 6020 E. 82nd St., on the northeast side of Indianapolis. There is ample parking, so your best bet is to park near your favorite department store. Macy’s opens onto the center of the mall and makes a good “home base” for a shopping trip.
Step2
Head to one of the mall’s many national clothing chains, such as the Gap, American Eagle, Aeropostale, H&M, Hollister, Ann Taylor Loft and the Limited.
Step3
Pick up shoes to complement your new outfit. Castleton Square Mall is home to Payless, Aldo, Bakers, Naturalizer and several athletic shoe stores. Several of the department stores also have outstanding shoe departments.
Step4
Need a break? Grab a latte at Barnie’s, see a movie at the mall’s new movie theater or browse the books and music at Borders. Von Maur also has a nice seating area, where you can listen to the piano and people watch while resting your feet.
Step5
If you’re hungry, head to the mall’s food court or any of its restaurants, which include T.G.I. Friday’s, Stir Crazy and Spicy Pickle. You’ll also find a number of great free-standing restaurants beyond the parking lots.
Step6
Check the mall directory to see which other stores interest you. There are plenty of things to do, from creating your own stuffed animal at Build-a-Bear Workshop to designing a custom remote-controlled car at Ridemakerz. You can also climb a rock wall at Dick’s Sporting Goods or get a makeover at one of the mall’s salons.
Step7
For something sparkly, head to one of the mall’s many jewelry stores, including Andrews Jewelers, Gordon’s Jewelers, Helzberg Diamonds, Kay Jewelers, Osterman Jewelers, Whitehall Co. Jewelers and Zales Jewelers. And don’t forget the department store jewelry counters!
