Things You'll Need:
- The following tools are recommended for the return home:
- 1. NERVE. It takes a lot of nerve to look backwards with fresh perspective.
- 2. Tenacity. It is best to cultivate a tenacious personality when odds get in your way.
- 3. Sense of Adventure. This is crucial as you must begin to see your hometown as a tourist, rather than as an outcast.
- 4. Caller ID. Once you arrive back in your familial land, you will want to screen those calls from all the relatives who want to chide and say they, "told you so...."
-
Step 1
Step 1. Carefully, fully consider the pros and cons of returning home.
-
Step 2
Step 2. Do it anyway.
-
Step 3
Step 3. Gather boxes from the liquor store(While you're there, stock up on supplies. You're gonna need them).
-
Step 4
Step 4. Fill the boxes with your most prized possessions and place them on your covered balcony so they can provide safe-haven for all sorts of critters that will relocate with you when the time comes.
-
Step 5
Step 5. DO NOT TELL ANYONE of your plans to move! (Do, however, file a change of address with the post office and IRS.)
-
Step 6
Step 6. Do not rent a truck. You are not a Teamster. (If you are a TEamster, disregard this step.) Hire professional movers ONLY after you have thoroughly checked them out. The SHARKS are out!
-
Step 7
Step 7. Buy a plane ticket. Pack your favorite clothing, but be sure to leave out any shampoos and conditioners, toothpaste and other dangerous items.
-
Step 8
Step 8. Change planes at the last minute and head to a tropical island and forget the whole "going home" idea!
