Things You’ll Need:

Boric Acid
Masking tape
Jelly or Jam

Step1

Purchase a box of boric acid from a home improvement or drugstore.

Step2

Per 8oz. jar of jam or jelly, add 2 tbsp. of boric acid. Stir thoroughly. It's important to use the correct amount of boric acid. You want the ants to take the bait to their nests to feed the queen, not to die too soon.

Step3

Place masking tape strips or pieces of foil/wax paper where ants are present. Distribute small dollops of ant bait onto the tape or other removable surface.

Step4

Change bait by removing the strips of tape and replacing with fresh ones every 2-3 days. There may be several nests of ants and you must do this through the entire cycle of each one, but within two weeks your home should be ant free for good!

Tips & Warnings

Keep ant bait labeled and away from children and pets.
Do not place bait where pets can reach it.

on 1/21/2008 This works great and to keep from getting them again watch what you are bringing in your house. Paper bags along with older furniture can carry in unwanted ants with them.
