Letter Writing Box and Paper

When my twins turned one, I began writing a letter to them. I wrote a letter telling them about what their first year of life was like and what they learned their first year.

This year, now that they are two, again, I am writing a letter to them on a separate paper which goes in a special box for them to open when they are twenty-one years old.

Even though I am over due, by two months, I will begin writing them each a letter about their second year of life and all they learned and the fun and trying times we had together.

This is something, hopefully, your child will want to read and look back on when they are adults. It will be especially special to them to see Mommy' s handwriting and read what Mommy thought about her baby/child from age one to twenty-one.

Things You'll Need:

  • A Word Processing Software

Writing Letters to Your Child on Their Birthdays

  1. Step 1

If you have beautiful handwriting, them writing a letter to your child each year of their birth should be easy for you. If you are like me and have chicken scratch for handwriting, then it would be easier to begin writing your thoughts down on the word processing software you use.

  2. Step 2

Once you decide to write your child a letter on your word processing software, at least here, you can change it to sound the way you want it to sound before transferring it over to the nice letter paper. The nice letter writing paper can be any weight or style you prefer, of course.

  3. Step 3

Of course, each letter you write will be very personal to you and your child. Tears may come to your eyes as you recall their "firsts" and remember them from infanthood on up. If you want to add a photo to the front of each letter, this paper would be the perfect type to use. This is a photo of my Twin A on her first birthday letter.

  4. Step 4
First Birthday Letter to Twin B

This is a photo and letter I wrote to my Twin B on her first birthday. There are four pages for you to write on with this paper. Of course, you do not have to use all four pages, but it is always nice to have more than less.

  5. Step 5

If you are sentimental, like I am, them being able to leave letters to your baby when they are adults to read will be right down your ally and give you pleasure to do so too.

Tips & Warnings
  • When writing, talk from the heart and it is always best to write your letter on a word processing program first, so you say what you really want to say, then transfer it to the very nice paper in which you want to have your thoughts written on
  • I see no warnings in this article, except to never forget to write your letter to your child, even if it is past their birthday
