How to Get Fuller Lips with Lip Enhancement Procedures

Are you frustrating by having small, thin lips? If you've tried enhancing your thin lips with natural methods such as makeup and are still dissatisfied, you may want to consider surgical lip enhancement.
The most common means of surgically enhancing lips is through the use of injectable "fillers". Previously, the predominant filler used for lip injections was collagen, also known by the brand name Zyder and Zyplast. The drawback to using collagen is that a small number of people are allergic to it. This means a skin test needs to be performed and read before proceeding with injections. There are newer fillers on the market including the brand names Restylane and Radiance which don't require allergy testing and give very nice results when injected properly.
Step2
Lip injections for lip enhancement generally require multiple needle sticks and take around 5 to 10 minutes to complete.Although these injections appear quite painful, the appearance seems to be worse than the reality. Most patients experience only slight redness, swelling, and faint bruising at the injection sites. Unfortunately, the results last only several months before the filler is reabsorbed and the lips gradually lose their fullness. Having to return for repeat injections can get a bit expensive.
Step3
If you need a more permanent solution to lip enhancement, there is a foam like material called Gortex which is inserted surgically into the lips. This procedure does give a fuller appearance to the lips, although they tend to make the lips feel harder and less supple. There's also a higher risk of complications such as infection since this is a surgical procedure. Plus, the Gortex has been known to shift underneath the lip causing an asymmetrical appearance.
Step4
A final option is to inject lips with your own body fat. Fat can be removed from anywhere you have excess stores such as the thighs or buttocks. The fat is then injected into the lips in a matter similar to the injection of a filler. This has the advantage of lasting longer than a filler, sometimes more than 6 months. Side effects include slight bruising, swelling, and redness.
