How to Generate Random Text in Word 2003

Actually a useful tool to generate random text filler if you are proofing an Ad, or design to show the design without the text actually being focused on during the proofing process.

This can also be useful if you are writing and article with limited space and you want to quickly generate a place holder for others content.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows PC
  • Microsoft Word 2003
  1. Step 1
    Generate random text
    Generate random text

    Once you have your word document open type in the following:

    =rand() and press enter

  2. Step 2
    3 paragraphs of text generated by typeing 7 characters
    3 paragraphs of text generated by typeing 7 characters

    This will generate 3 paragraphs of text quickly.

  3. Step 3
    Generate even more random text
    Generate even more random text

    You can also specify more sentences and paragraphs by entering variables into the rand statement =rand(sentance,paragraphs), replacing the words with numbers

  4. Step 4

    =rand(10,4) will generate 10 sentences in 4 paragraphs of random text

  5. Step 5

    Done, have fun !!!

  • Word in Office 2007 promises to deliver the famous Lorem Ipsum text generator by adding the =lorem() statement.
