Want to add an extra ounce of security to your web page by adding a "No Right Mouse Click" DHTML script to the web pages code. This is a copy and paste installation and is fairly easy to do. This will protect your images (or text) from getting copied easily from your web pages.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • HTML editor

Step1
Find the web page that you want to add the protection script. Open the web page in your HTML editor, this can even be used with online HTML editers as long as you can copy from one page and paste into your page. I work with two browsers open to make the operation faster. Your web page will now be open and you can see the HTML code of the page.
Step2
In the second browser open it to this website:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/noright3.htm
Follow the instructions on that page that will tell you to highlight the text in the box and hit control+C to copy, then you will paste the selected text into the body will be pasted in right below the body tag at the top of the page.
Step3
After you have pasted the "NO RIGHT MOUSE CLICK" script into the page then hit save to save the changes in your document. If the web page is stored on your hard drive, then you will need to upload it to the server. If it's a web based HTML editor on the server where your files are stored then hitting save will be enough. Open the page with two different browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer to see if everything looks fine, if it does you are finished. Right click on your page and nothing will happen, as it should be.
Here is an example of this style of web page:
