When it comes to working out, almost everyone is looking to get the most out of their routine in the shortest amount of time. That being said, nobody wants to kill themselves either. Generally speaking, if you're burning about 300 calories in thirty minutes, you can call that a good workout.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Before any workout, be sure to stretch for about five minutes. Stretch out your arms and legs, as this will get the blood flowing and make it easier to move.
Step2
Whether you're jogging down the street or working out on the elliptical machine, start yourself out with a 3 to 5 minute warm-up.
Step3
After your warm-up, go at a moderate pace for about twenty-five minutes. Moderate meaning a slow jog on the treadmill or about 60 to 65 RPM on the elliptical.
Step4
Give yourself about 3 to 5 minutes to cool down. This will help you lower your heart rate and relax all the muscles you were just working.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to burn a few more calories with this workout, adjust the elevation or the resistance between level 2 and level 5.
  • If you're new to working out, test the equipment a bit before you use it. Get a feel for how the machine runs and what a moderate speed feels like.
  • Breath. Take regular, steady breaths while working out. This will help keep fatigue from setting in too quickly.
