There are some things you can do to try to avoid the colds and flu that are circulating this season.These tips can make all the difference in helping you maintain your health so that you can do all that you need and want to do.

Step1
Wash you hands often with soap and warm, soapy water. Encourage your family to do the same.
Step2
Work at keeping your hands away from your face, minimizing the chances that you will pick up germs through you mouth,nose, and eyes.
Step3
Get the rest and sleep you need, even if you have to put yourself on a schedule.
Step4
Eat well-balanced meals making a conscious effort to eat a variety of foods including plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Step5
Enjoy moderate exercise to maintain optimal health.
Step6
If you can't avoid getting a cold or the flu, drink plenty of fluids. Warm fluids like soup help break up congestion.
Step7
Use over the counter medications, following directions, and increase your rest and warmth.

  • If you end up having to get your doctor to prescribe antibiotics, then be sure to finish the prescription. This is so important to do, even if you feel back to normal.
