This is a beautiful way to honor mothers and grandmothers during your wedding ceremony.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Long Stem Roses
  • Ribbon

Step1
Before the ceremony, select a long stemmed rose for each mother/grandmother/person to be honored and tie a ribbon on the stem. Lay the roses on the alter/table with the unity candle.
Step2
When it's time to light the unity candle, have a special song played or sung by a singer.
Step3
After lighting the unity candle, the bride and groom each pick up their roses and gracefully walk over to their parents.
Step4
The bride presents a rose to her mother and grandmother while the groom presents to his. (or any other special women - like a second mom). This can include a hug and a kiss.
Step5
The bride and groom meet in the center and walk back up to the alter together where they can then hold hands, facing each other while the song finishes.

Tips & Warnings

  • This is a tear jerker. People may cry (but in a good way!)

on 2/19/2008 I actually received recognition similar to this (at a stepson's wedding) and it was very beautiful. This will work well and leave a lasting impression).
