Learn how to choose your sign, location, tool's needed, and technique to help take sign.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Wood Saw
  • Hatchet
  • Flashlight
  • Getaway Car
  • Strawberry Whoppers
  • Blanket
  • Gloves

Step1
Scope out area for the perfect sign. If you want a general sign (ex. ONE WAY, YIELD, SPEED LIMIT) location is key to your safety. If you want a specific sign (ex. STATE OF ..., SLOW CHILDREN, MAIN STREET) location may be limited and safety may be in jeopardy, this seperates the men from the boy's.
Step2
Find a safe spot for your car. If lucky enough to have a getaway driver, make sure you feed him/her strawberry whoppers. Keep car running in case of need for an early exit.
Step3
Grab equiptment needed and start cutting/sawing sign down. Try your best to keep noise down and keep a lookout for cars. It may take awhile... minutes, hours, or it may take over a week like it did for us. Never give up, the satisfaction of taking a sign is great.
Step4
Put cut sign into trunk, hatch, or truck bed and get the hell out of there. Cover with a blanket. Remember not to speed and follow all traffic laws... now is not the time to get pulled over... that would really suck.
Step5
Enjoy your sign!!! Give it to your kids, hang it up in your den, throw it in a river, etc.

Tips & Warnings

  • Secluded areas are always nice
  • Time of day that is preferred is 12:00-2:00 a.m.
  • Don't take STOP signs!!! That could lead to harming others... that is terrorism
  • Last Call is something to take into consideration. Drunks are just as scary as the popo
