How to Train Your Dog to Sit

Sit! Good Dog! I can teach you how to teach your dog!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Dog
• Patents
• Treats

1. Capture your dog's attention by showing him/her the treat. Let the dog smell the treat.

2. Tell the dog to sit, while gently pushing down on the dogs rear end.

3. After he/she sits. Reward the dog with the treat that you showed him/her. Make sure you praise your dog even though the dog really didn't obey the command.

4. Get another treat, and repeat steps 1-4. Eventually, he/she will learn the word "sit" and begin to obey your command. Don't get discouraged, or the dog may get discouraged also.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't scold the dog for not following the command. He/She will get it. Stay positive, and so will your dog.
