Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- a good relationship with your children..
Step1
There are a few ways to avoid paying child support, no matter if you have a divorce or paternity case.
Step2
The easiest way is to get joint physical custody. That means the child lives with you half the time and the other party half the time. This is easy to do if you live near each other and the child will still be in the same school district. If the parents don't live near each other or in the same school district it can work up until the child is 4 or enters schools.
Step3
Another was to avoid paying child support is if you or the other parent lives out of state and you have to travel/pay money to visit the child. The transportation expenses for the visitation may off set a weekly support order.
If you are on any type of public assistance you can't be ordered to pay child support. TAFDC or EAEDC.
