How to Use the Help System in SPSS Statistical Software

SPSS statistical software can be a bit confusing and overwhelming at times, especially for those who really are not familiar with it. So it is important to know that help is available in several different ways.

1. Help is available in a number of ways. On each and every window there is access to Help on the menu bar.
2. Choose Analyze, Descriptive Statistics, Frequencies from the menu. Then click Help. This is using dialog box help.
3. Click Help, Statistics Coach from the Menu. From there decide what it is that you want to do. Then click summarize. This is the Statistics coach.
4. Right click on any pivot table that has been created by a procedure. Select Case Studies on the pop up context menu. This tool will help you find relevant information that you might be seeking to complete the analizing of certain data.
