Step 1
Ask friends and neighbors to collect dryer lint for you.Collect the lint in a bag or any other container placed near the dryer. Ask neighbors and friends to keep theirs for you, too. Different bags for darks, whites, colors and brights is an option, too.

Step 2
A lint fire starter is a snap to make and very effective.Build a fire starter. Very simple and even more utilitarian, this recycled toilet paper cardboard center is stuffed with dryer lint. Place underneath kindling in the fireplace or underneath charcoal in the barbecue.
-
Step 3
Amuse your cat. Take enough lint to stuff a 2-by-2 inch pillow and add a couple of tbs. or so of catnip (depending on potency of the kitty weed). Be sure to sew up the pillow tightly, as Fluffy is going to go crazy! Stimulate the catnip by rubbing the pillow vigorously between your palms. Toss it to kitty and watch the fun ensue.

Step 4
Sculpt a monument to laundry workers everywhere. Make “clay” using dryer lint and enough liquid starch for the consistency of your choosing. If a monument seems a little overwhelming, start small with some wind chimes, garden curios and Christmas ornaments.
-
Step 5
Pack it with love. Fill light fabric bags (such as flour sacks, brining bags, old pillow cases or sachet covers) with lint and use them to protect fragile items in shipping or storing.
-
Step 6
Build a better bird’s nest or guinea pig’s bed. Leave some lint on a wall and birds may grab it and use it for a nest. Throw some lint in with the guinea pig’s shavings for good snuggling.
