Know the word of God. You can’t share the gospel if you yourself don’t know it. You need to read the scriptures and understand them, and have a burning testimony of their truthfulness.
Step2
Obtain and Develop True Friendships. Though sharing the gospel with strangers can sometimes build friendships, sharing the gospel is much more effective when you have true friends that know you will remain their friends whether or not they choose to accept the gospel. In addition, wanting to share the gospel with friends shows them how important the gospel is to you.
Step3
Be an Example. It is very hard to tell someone to “do as I say, not as I do.” Live the gospel to the very best of your ability. Be an example of service to your friends and neighbors, co-workers and colleagues. The true gospel involves caring for others, and living in a righteous manner.
Step4
Open Your Mouth. Though being an example is important, it is just as important to start talking. Individuals may become interested in the gospel by how you live, but one way or another you’ve got to start telling them about the gospel. Be sure to share your deep feelings and belief about the gospel, and invite those you share the gospel with to pray to know of its truthfulness. Share your testimony whenever you get the chance.
Step5
Invite the Spirit. Whether you invite the Spirit through song or prayer, make sure when you share the gospel the Spirit is present to confirm your testimony to the other person. It is the Spirit, not you, that converts another person to the truth.
