The Immaculate Heart of Mary is a representation of her love of God and man.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Devotion to Mary's Immaculate Heart dates back to the Middle Ages, though it's been especially popular since the Seventeenth century. The Immaculate Heart symbolizes the love of Mary for her son, for God the Father and for the wayward human race as well as her virtues and sorrows. The Immaculate Heart is depicted as being aflame, encircled by a garland of roses or lilies and sometimes pierced with the seven daggers that symbolize her sorrows. It appears either on its own or hovering in front of Mary's chest. Say this prayer for nine consecutive days, nine Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays or every hour for nine hours.
Step2
O Most Blessed Mother,
heart of love,
heart of mercy,
ever listening,
caring, consoling,
hear my prayer.
As your child,
I implore your intercession
with Jesus your Son.
Receive with understanding and compassion
the petitions I place before you today,
especially...

Mention the purpose of your prayer.
Step3
I am comforted in knowing
your heart is ever open
to those who ask for your prayer.
I trust to your gentle care and intercession,
those whom I love and who are sick
or lonely or hurting.
Help all of us, Holy Mother,
to bear our burdens in this life
until we may share eternal life
and peace with God forever
Amen
