How to fix Mediterranean Okra

You can use this delicious dish as a side item or an entrée, it is great for the winter months!!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp chopped garlic mixed with 1 tbsp cumin powder to form a past
  • 3 tbsp butter for frying
  • 1lb beef cubs or lamb meat cub [preferred some of the fat with the meat for taste]
  • ½ cup tomato past
  • 1 bag of frozen okra
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1-2 lemon or lime slices
  • pita bread
Step1
Fry the onion in the butter till golden yellow, about 5 minutes.
Step2
Turn the heat to medium then add the garlic past to the onion and fry for another minuet.
Step3
Add the beef or lamb and stir it until coated with the onion and garlic past, do this until the meat is not pink any more.
Step4
Next add the tomato past and continue to stir for another minute or two
Step5
Finally add the okra, salt, pepper, and water to cover it. Turn the heat on high until boiling then reduce it to medium low and let it simmer for about 2 hours.
Step6
Serve hot with pita bread, you can squeeze one or two slices of lemon juice if you desire.

P.S. if you like it spicy you can throw in couple of hot jalapeño peppers while simmering or 1 tsp crushed hot pepper.
