How to Prepare Prune Rye Bread

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup of prunes
  • 2 cups of rye flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cuts of all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups of milk
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • 6 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of kosher salt
  • butter
  1. Step 1

    Boil the prunes, then drain them, allow them to cool, then chop them roughly.

  2. Step 2

    Beat the egg.

  3. Step 3

    Sift the baking powder, sugar, salt and flours into a mixing bowl, then introduce the egg and milk.

  4. Step 4

    Add the prunes and stir.

  5. Step 5

    Smear the inside of a large bread pan with butter and spoon the bread mixture into that.

  6. Step 6

    Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
