The George Foreman Grill can do magical things. It can turn ordinary foods into delicious foods in a snap. Whether you are a college student or you don’t have a full kitchen in your living arrangement or you just love the Foreman, it is a space saver and great way to make a grilled cheese sandwich. Try this one on for size. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • American cheese singles
  • Foreman Grill
  • Bread
  • Butter
  • Parmesan cheese

Step1
Heating up. Turn the Foreman Grill on and let it heat up while you prepare the sandwich. It is best to have the Foreman piping hot when you are ready to grill the cheese.
Step2
The sandwich. Take 2 pieces of bread (wheat is recommended) and lay them on a plate. Take a single slice of cheese and put it on the bread. Take another half piece and tear it up into 5 pieces. Put 4 of the pieces on the corners and the remaining piece in the middle. This ensures cheesiness throughout the sandwich. Add a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese over the American cheese. Close the sandwich and butter up both outsides of the bread. Give it a good coating.
Step3
Grill. Place the sandwich on the grill and close the Foreman. It should cook pretty fast since it is already up to high heat. After about 2 minutes check the sandwich. I recommend flipping the sandwich from vertical to horizontal after a few minutes. It ensures a perfect cook throughout.
Step4
Once the bread is browned nicely and is becoming crispy, take it off the Foreman grill carefully. It will be hot so use caution. Put the sandwich on a plate. Use the scrapping tool to get rid of the excess cheese that inevitably came out on to the grill. Do this while it is still hot to save time and energy scrubbing it later. Enjoy.

on 2/25/2008 I have an itty bitty GF grill and also the bigger one. I keep the small one on my countertop and use it daily. Great for crunching up something that is soggy while cooked in the microwave. I LOVE it and grilled cheese is my fave on it. Thanks for the article.

on 2/23/2008 I enjoy my George Foreman, but have never made a grilled cheese sandwich on it. I just love how you say to take another half piece and tear it into 5 pieces, that makes me smile because I really like my cheese to cover my bread. I will have to try the Parmesan cheese, sounds great, thanks.
