How to Point Your Blog at a Domain

If you have a blog in Typepad or Blogger or some other host and you would like to make your blog easier to access with a new domain, read on to learn how to point your blog at your new domain name.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  1. Step 1

    Buy your new domain name. You can buy them at Godaddy and a lot of other sites. You can even get one at blogger. I bought awstories.com.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the site where you registered your domain and log in.

  3. Step 3

    Go to the "Domain Management" section.

  4. Step 4

    Go to "Forward Domain."

  5. Step 5

    Enter your long blog name, for example, awstories.blogspot.com.

  6. Step 6

    Now when someone types your new domain, awstories.com, it will automatically go to your long name, awstories.blogspot.com.

Tips & Warnings
  • You shouldn't pay more than $10 for a domain name.
