Go to Presque Isle and enjoy a winter picnic on the beach. Be sure to dress warm and bring warm food if you choose this option. It is guaranteed to be a very cold near Lake Erie on Valentine’s Day. The good thing, though, is that you’ll probably have the entire beach to yourself.
Step2
Eat a fun meal at Hibachi Japanese Steak and Sea House. Hibachi is the best Japanese restaurant in the area and is a fun alternative to a conventional “romantic” meal on Valentine‘s Day. It’s great to watch the chefs perform tricks right before your eyes. It doesn’t hurt that the food is incredible.
Step3
Go see a romantic movie at one of the theaters at Tinseltown. The best theaters in the Erie area with the most selections can be found at Tinseltown. Chances are you and your significant other could find a movie playing at Tinseltown that you could agree on.
Step4
After dinner and a movie, head to Marketplace Grill for drinks and a dessert. The Marketplace Grill is one the best restaurants found in Erie and is roughly a ten minute walk from Lake Erie.
Step5
Watch the sunset from Dobbins Landing. Once again, it will be cold up there so dress appropriately. However, this is a great place for a romantic view of the sunset over Lake Erie, especially on Valentine’s Day.
Step6
Rent a suite at Peek’n Peak Resort in New York State. The Peak is technically not in Erie, PA but it is less than an hour away. The Peak is a place where you can rent a romantic suite and have some fun as well, as there is skiing, snowboarding and tubing available. My favorite way to end Valentine’s Day is to spend it under the stars in the outdoor hot tub.
