A "FavIcon" is a favorite icon--one of those tiny images that sit next to a website's URL (address) in the web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox). They are 16-by-16 in size. Adding one to your blog or website is one way of making it more personalized. Read on to learn how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • Digital photos
  1. Step 1

Choose a photo or an image JPEG you would like to use. You can create one in Photoshop or some other graphics program.

  2. Step 2

Go to a FavIcon generating website, such as http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon. If you do a search, you'll find plenty more.

  3. Step 3

Click "browse" and upload your photo.

  4. Step 4

    Click "generate Favicon.ico"

  5. Step 5

Check out the preview. How does it look?

  6. Step 6

Download the FavIcon. When asked, choose to "open" instead of "save."

  7. Step 7

There will be a folder and a file. The FavIcon you need is in the "extra" folder.

  8. Step 8

Open the extra folder and choose either the animated FavIcon or the preview FavIcon.

  9. Step 9

Double click and save it to your desktop.

  10. Step 10

Now you can use that FavIcon in your blogger template.
