How to Throw a Fun Party

Everyone likes a good party. If you are a person who can throw a good party, you are a person who is usually likable and most importantly, influential. You can throw fun parties and enjoy all the benefits thereof.

1. Define a reason for having the party. It could be as simple as a networking get-together or month-end refresher.

2. Develop a theme. It can be very subtle, but it will engage your guests. For instance, have everyone wear something of a particular color. This also helps to get conversations started and loosen up your party atmosphere.

3. Have some of your guests commit to participating by bringing a food dish or something similar. Choose guests who are popular or well liked as the ones who will be participating in throwing the party. This will ensure a good turnout.

4. Have an abundance of food and drinks.

5. Have great music, even if it's soft jazz in the background.

6. Greet every guest who comes into your party and ask them what you can get them. Parties tend to be better when a guest is comfortable right away rather than having to warm up to the party.

7. Speak with a couple of reliable male friends prior to the party to commit to being your support arm if anything gets out of hand.

8. Know that one obnoxious person can ruin a party. Often a person becomes obnoxious when they have had too much to drink. Warn an obnoxious person about their behavior immediately.
