So you've created a wonderful dinner but you don't have time for hors d’oeuvres? It's ok, there's an easy, and delicious fix. This is a recipe for a quickie seafood appetizer. Read on to learn how to prepare shrimp du jour.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 5 lbs. of shrimp
  • ¼ cup of Parmigiano-reggiano cheese
  • ¼ cup of parsley
  • Sea salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • ¼ cup of chives
  • Crackers
  • Butter
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp. of garlic

Step1
Crumble the crackers, grind the pepper, mince the parsley, garlic and chives. Grate the cheese. Melt ¼ 1b. of butter.
Step2
Peel the shrimp, de-vein them with a sharp knife, wash them and drain them in a sieve.
Step3
Sauté the shrimp in a saucepan with 4 tbsp. of butter. Allow the shrimp to turn pink (which you might not notice if the shrimp has been injected with food coloring in the market). Remove the saucepan from the heat and set on a trivet.
Step4
Smear butter around the inside of a baking pan.
Step5
Mix the garlic, chives, parsley, Worcestershire sauce and a dash of salt and pepper in with the shrimp and spoon this into the baking pan.
Step6
Top with the cracker crumbs, cheese and ¼ lb. of melted butter.
Step7
Brown all this in the broiler.
