Sometimes having an indoor plant or miniature tree, especially if they look real, can be a wonderful splash of liveliness or color during the gloomy months of winter. However, they can be a real pain when it comes to cleaning them adequately and making them free of dust. There is a simple and easy way to remedy the dust problem and all you need to be able to do is squeeze a nozzle.

Things You’ll Need:

Artificial plant or tree
Canned air
A soft cloth, sprayed with dusting spray (not always needed)

Step1

Walk around your house or apartment and collect all of your indoor artificial plants and trees.

Step2

Take the plants and trees either to a garage or somewhere outside your home, such as the back porch or patio.

Step3

Take a container of canned air and begin to vigorously spray the plants and trees. Try to remove as much dust as possible and don’t be afraid to hold the leaves and spray them closely.

Step4

Once the dust has been sprayed off you should wipe the leaves with a cloth that has been sprayed with dusting spray. This will help to repel the dust longer and the next time the plants need dusted you should be able to only use the canned air.

Tips & Warnings

You may need to repeat the use of the cloth and dusting spray after several months, depending on the amount of dust accumulation and how often you keep them dust-free.
If you are allergic to dust, make sure you wear a face mask and gloves.
