Things You'll Need:
- 1 cup of Arctic bonito tuna
- ½ pound of porcini mushrooms
- 1 ¼ cups of milk
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- ¼ teaspoon of freshly-ground pepper
- 3 medium-sized New potatoes
- Shortening
-
Step 1
In a deep pan, heat up the shortening to 400 degrees. Grind the pepper.
-
Step 2
Slice the potatoes paper thin.
-
Step 3
Deep fry the potatoes until they become crisp—though not burned--chips, then drain them on paper towels. After the chips cool, crush them into crumbly bits.
-
Step 4
Slice up the mushrooms lengthwise, put into a saucepan and begin to sauté in butter, then slowly introduce the pepper, milk and flour. Stir all this until a pleasing thickness is reached, then introduce the tuna and ¾ of the chips.
-
Step 5
Spoon the mixture into a greased baking dish, then cover all this with what's left of the chips and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
