Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- 2 pounds of lamb shoulder
- 3 cups of basmati rice
- 1 teaspoon of curry powder
- 1 tablespoon of shortening
- ¼ teaspoon of thyme
- 2 ½ teaspoons of kosher salt
- ¼ cup of water
- 3 cups of hot water
- 1 globe onion
- Garlic butter
Step1
Boil the rice and dice the onion. Cube the lamb.
Step2
Heat the shortening up and brown the lamb and onion in that.
Step3
Introduce the thyme and salt and mix in the hot water. Allow everything to simmer for 1 ½ hours.
Step4
Mix the ¼ cup of water with the curry powder and and allow this to thicken, then drizzle it over the lamb chunks.
Step5
Smear garlic butter all over the inside of a baking pan and then spoon in the rice.
Step6
Place the lamb in top of the rice, then bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
