How to Deodorize a Dog with Baking Soda
Let's face it: dogs get dirty quickly and if you add in wet fur from being in the rain, then you can have one smelly dog on your hands. If you don't have time to bathe the family friend, then you can deodorize him until you find time.
Instructions
-
-
1
Open a box of baking soda and have your pup sit on the floor.
-
2
Pour a small amount of the baking soda into your hands and sprinkle it over the back of the dog.
-
-
3
Use your hands to gently massage the baking soda into the dog's fur until it is not visible.
-
4
Add more baking soda to the remaining areas, such as the head, belly, legs and tail, making sure to keep it from getting in the dog's eyes, ears and nose.
-
5
You may now follow up by brushing your dog, but this step is not necessary. You may also notice some baking soda on the floor where the dog sat, so be sure to clean up the mess when you are done.
-

Give your dog a sniff and be happy with the temporary deodorization of pet odors. Feel free to repeat the process when necessary.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure your dog is completely dry before you apply the baking soda.
You can also deodorize your pet's bedding in-between washes.

Great concern Alex. Kasey is right on this..baking soda is very soothing to the skin. Plus, stop to think if you would actually put it on yourself. Most pet remedies and even medication is the same or close to what humans use. So even if the pup licks it, he'll be okay. -
