Cleaning the pool means waging an ongoing battle with nature. It's even harder when your automatic pool vacuum has weak suction power. If you set up a weekly pool cleaning routine, where you do most of the work and leave your vacuum only minimal work, your efforts will have you spending more time enjoying your pool and less time cursing at the weak vacuum cleaning the pool.

How to Clean a Pool With a Weak Pool Vacuum

  1. Step 1

Check your automatic pool vacuum for rocks or debris that may be stuck inside clogging the mechanism and creating poor suction.

  2. Step 2

Before hooking up the pool vacuum, do most of the cleaning by hand.

  3. Step 3

Brush the sides of the pool. Remove leaves on surface and bottom of pool with a net. If it's warm, dive to the bottom to remove debris the net can't scoop. Brush bottom of pool.

  4. Step 4

When dirt settles, hook up pool vacuum and help to guide it around the pool bottom for maximum effect.
