What better to go with shrimp at your next cocktail party than cocktail sauce? This classic shrimp dipper is the perfect pairing for everyone's favorite sea delicacy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup of ketchup
  • 1/2 cup of chili sauce
  • 2-3 teaspoons of prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon of worcestershire sauce
  1. Step 1

In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.

  2. Step 2

Chill in the fridge uncovered for about a half an hour.

  3. Step 3

Arrange your shelled deveined cooked shrimp on a round serving platter, lining the shrimp around the edge of the platter in a circle. In the center of the platter, place a small or medium dip cup filled with the cocktail sauce. Serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • To add zest to your cocktail sauce you may add a dash or two of Tabasco sauce.
  • On the serving platter, for presentation purposes, you can place a white round doile to go underneath the shrimp and dip.
  • In the dip cup, you can place a small cocktail serving spoon so guests can place some dip on their plate along with some shrimp.
  • Instead of cooking, deveining and cooking the shrimp ahead of time, a speedy solution would be to purchase frozen shrimp at your local grocery store. You can usually find a large freezer filled with frozen shrimp you can place into a bag with a scoop and buy by the pound. This frozen shrimp is usually pre-cooked and shelled but simply frozen. All you have to do is defrost it by placing it in a strainer in the sink and running some lukewarm water over it until the shrimp become soft enough to bite into.
  • Make sure the shrimp is shelled, deveined, and cooked before it is ready to be served.
  • Do not leave the shrimp platter out for very long. Any type of seafood that stays out at room temperature for long amounts of time will begin to harbor bacteria after a long while.
  • If the shrimp must stay out for long periods of time, place the shrimp in a bowl with some ice and serve the cocktail sauce seperately.
