Urinary tract and bladder infections can be painful and long lasting if you let them get out of hand. They can also lead to more serious problems if you don't get things under control quickly. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cranberry juice and capsules
  • Echinacea/goldenseal blend capsules
  • Spring or distilled water
  • Vitamin C

How to Clear Up a Bladder Infection

Step1
When you feel a bladder or urinary tract infection starting, eliminate all sugary foods and sodas from your diet until the infection is under control. Reintroducing them too quickly can cause a recurrence of the infection.
Step2
Cranberry capsules and cranberry juice are excellent infection fighters. They contain nutrients that prohibit bacteria from attaching to the lining of the bladder.
Step3
Increase your intake of water. The more water you drink, the more toxins and wastes are flushed through your body. Spring and distilled water are the best choices.
Step4
Echinacea and goldenseal will help to build your immunities. Large amounts of Vitamin C will also boost your immune system and help to fight infection.
Step5
Empty your bladder often: every 20 to 30 minutes is a good rule of thumb. The extra water you drink will help to flush the infection out of your body.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't drink a lot of sweetened juices. Sugar helps the infection to grow. Vegetable juices will add infection fighting nutrients.
  • Consult a physician any time that you suspect that you have an infection.
