Clean better and faster with professional cleaning tips.

Maybe you want your home company clean or simply want to make better use of your domestic time. These tips will help you clean like a professional to both save time and make your house shine. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Micro fiber towels
  • Glass cleaner with ammonia
  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Bucket
  • Vacuum
  • Magic eraser sponges
  • Foam carpet freshener

How to Clean Like a Pro

  1. Step 1

Buy good cleaning supplies to reduce the need for lengthy cleaning jobs and excess chemicals. Try micro fiber towels to clean a variety of surfaces like a professional and with little fuss or cleanser. These towels work great for black shiny appliances and are safe for most surfaces.

  2. Step 2

Pick a good glass cleaner with ammonia (or use vinegar) to limit streaking and a professional strength all-purpose cleaner. Awesome cleaner (not Orange Awesome) works great. Plus, it is available at many discount stores for about a dollar.

  3. Step 3

Gather your cleaning supplies to include cleansers, micro fiber towels, sponges, paper towers, and a duster. Put them in a bucket and take room-to-room to eliminate unnecessary trips.

  4. Step 4

Clean like a professional by doing so in an organized way. One method is to clean left-to-right and top-to-bottom. Tackle dusting and vacuuming last. If a room is heavily littered, remove the trash and clutter first to make cleaning easier.

  5. Step 5

Pay attention to overlooked areas such as corners, edges, baseboards, and light fixtures. Lightweight dusters with extensions and ultra-light mops with disposable pads may make the cleaning job easier.

  6. Step 6

Consider Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, or generic equivalent, for dirty walls, doors and the bathroom. These eraser sponges save time but also tend to leave a residue that attracts dirt, so avoid using them on tile and linoleum floors.

  7. Step 7

Make mirrors shine with a good towel and a small amount of glass cleaner. Wipe up-and-down and then across (back-and-forth), using relatively light pressure, then work around the edges.

  8. Step 8

Empty vacuum cleaner dust container and vacuum thoroughly, using foam carpet freshener as desired. Carpets trap a lot of dust and odor and stained carpets make a clean place look dirty. Try to remove carpet stains or cover them with throw rugs. A quick run with a portable shampooer works wonders in homes with smoke, pets and musty odors.

Tips & Warnings
  • Glass cleaner can be substituted with vinegar and baking powder makes a good powdered cleanser for stainless steel and ceramic.
