How to make Tuna Pasta Salad

Tuna pasta salad can be a real life saver when you have guests – a little of it goes a long way. This recipe is colorful and has a pleasing taste. Adding herbs and spices only enhances the dish. Things You'll Need

  • 1-pound box of Penne, Rigatoni or Ziti
  • 2 cans of all white tuna, 8 ounces each
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Olives (black or green)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary or oregano
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

      Cook the pasta in salted water as directed. Drain in cold water to stop the cooking process. Place in bowl and refrigerate until needed.

      Open the tuna can, drain it well and add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Drain the olives and set them aside. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, herbs, salt and lemon juice until smooth. Cut fresh tomatoes into small chunks.

      Retrieve pasta from refrigerator and add it to the mayonnaise mixture. Mix in the tuna and olives.

      Garnish with tomatoes and Parmesan cheese.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure your pasta is cold. The mayonnaise will cling to it better.
