Dogs may have a fur coat; but they still get chilly when the temperatures drop. Dressing a dog in a jacket can be tricky. Read on to learn some tips to make it easier.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Dog
  • Dog coat in a suitable size

Step1
Make sure the dog is calm. An excited pooch won’t be as easy to dress.
Step2
Familiarize yourself with the clothing item. Make sure you know exactly which holes are meant for Buddy’s legs.
Step3
Lift one of the pup’s front legs and insert into the jacket. Continue to praise the dog for its patience. Once the first arm is in place, pull the jacket up snug.
Step4
Inserting the second leg is the trickiest part. Pull the empty arm of the jacket and slowly bend Buddy’s leg to fit it into the arm. Once the second leg is in place and the jacket is on, let your four-legged friend know you are pleased.

Tips & Warnings

  • Jumpy dogs may require 2 people.
  • Make sure the jacket is the right size. A dog in a tight coat may be funny to look at; but Buddy won’t appreciate it.
