Buy a book and support a good cause. The Housing Works Bookstore is a great independent bookstore with a cafe and frequent free readings by popular authors. All of their profits go to help homeless people with HIV/AIDS.

The Soho Rep is a great place to see a play. They consistently produce thought-provoking shows and are the only off-Broadway theater to offer $1 tickets (you're reading that right) for all shows on Sunday night. They go fast, so get there early.

No trip to Soho would be complete without a trip to Balthazar. This popular bistro is a favorite among celebrities and locals alike. The friendly service and great food make it a must. Book in advance to ensure a table.
