Transforming existing lamps is an easy way to decorate for Easter in a small space or on a small budget. Many of these ideas for decorating your lamps for Easter use existing materials and products you may already have laying around for Easter.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Plastic Easter eggs
  • Plastic grass
  • Bunny dolls
  • Self-adhering Velcro
  • Hot glue
  • Power drill

Easter Egg Lamp Finial

Step1
Take your plastic Easter egg apart into two pieces. Lay each on a flat work surface.
Step2
Drill a hole in the bottom of the plastic Easter egg. Make sure to use a drill that is as large as the screw on the top of the lampshade.
Step3
Put the Easter egg pieces back together.
Step4
Remove the existing finial from the lampshade. Slide the new Easter egg finial onto the lampshade.

Bunny Lamp Base

Step1
Sprinkle some green plastic Easter basket grass on the base of your lamp or on the table where the lamp sits.
Step2
Place your favorite Easter bunny doll on the base of your lamp. Have the arms wrap around the base of the lamp. The bunny can sit on your table. He will look like he is sitting on the Easter grass.
Step3
Apply self-adhering Velcro to the palms of the Easter bunny doll to hold them in place around the base of the lampshade.
Step4
Hot glue some plastic Easter eggs around the bottom of the base as well. The hot glue can be easily popped off glass or ceramic lamp bases later.

Easter Egg Dangles

Step1
Take your plastic Easter eggs apart. You will need 12 for each medium to large sized lampshade.
Step2
Drill a small hole into the atop of the plastic Easter egg.
Step3
Slip a piece of twine or fishing line through the hole. Tie a knot on the inside. Assemble the eggs back together.
Step4
Tie or hot glue the string or fishing line to the bottom of the metal ring on the lampshade.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can poke a hole into the lampshade with a needle to tie the thread or twine on the lamp. You may want to use a new shade for this so you do not damage the lampshade that came with the lamp.
  • Have a few extra plastic Easter eggs to drill through in case one or two crack.
  • Try using mini-plastic Easter eggs.
