Read Women's Wear Daily, which is the fashion business bible. It has all the news on new companies and designers, and has both articles and pictures of the latest fashions. You can find it at the bookstore, library or online (see Resources below).

Take a peek at the newspapers and business journals online across the nation. Search for "apparel" and you will often find news on startup clothing companies that are making a splash. Nearly every big city has a business journal.
Step3
Peruse your favorite store, and ask the store clerk or manager what's new. Look for things you like and get the company name so you can do a search online. Many companies show off their newest designs online.
Step4
Attend the Agenda trade show in San Diego. Agenda is an offshoot of the Action Sports Retailer show (which is also a good source of fashion info) that features the smaller, unknown companies relative to ASR. The show is usually in late January.
