If you have a loved one that has recently passed away, it’s often important to celebrate that person’s life when their birthday rolls around.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pick a day, such as the loved one's birthday. Then, tell family members that today is the birthday of the loved one.

  2. Step 2

Pick a special place to go out to eat in their honor or prepare a special meal. You might even consider fixing the loved one’s favorite meal if other people enjoy it as well.

  3. Step 3

Talk about the loved one who has passed. Say, “Today is his birthday, and he is no longer here with us, but we are thankful for the time we had with him. What are some things you remember about this person?”

  4. Step 4

Put flowers on the grave or get a vase of flowers to put on the table at dinner if the loved one was cremated.

  5. Step 5

Talk about what was important to the loved one who passed. If they volunteered somewhere, offer to volunteer there too, even if it’s just a couple times a year or donate money in his honor.
