Your muscles are like a bundle of rubber bands. The more they stretch and contract, the more flexible and strong they become. And after being stretched or contracted, they release lactic acid to repair any bands that may have been ripped. This process requires energy from your body or calories. So the more you stretch and contract your muscles the more calories you burn. This can all be done from the comfort of your car.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Car
  • Muscles
  • Traffic

Step1
Suck in your gut and clench your stomach muscles for 20 seconds. Repeat this 3 to 5 times. It's the equivalent of doing sit ups.
Step2
Work your back and triceps by pushing your hands down against the seat.
Step3
Put your arms on the steering wheel and squeeze in as hard as you can for 15 second intervals. This will give you a chest workout.
Step4
Curling and wiggling your toes will bring the flow of blood to your legs and can give you a calf and hamstring workout.

Tips & Warnings

  • These exercises are just a few ways to exercise. Every part of your body can be worked out in the car if you concentrate on each muscle.
  • Remember to pay more attention to the road than to your awesome body.
