Watching what you eat is essential, but so is eating good food. What is a person to do? This delicious caramel apple pie weighs in at under 150 calories a slice and tastes delicious. It is low-sugar and low-calorie. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Low-fat graham cracker crust
  • Butter-flavor cooking spray
  • Package of sugar free, bake and serve pudding mix
  • 1 1/8 cup skim milk
  • 1/4 cup Splenda
  • 4 medium apples, 2 sweet (Fuji) and 2 sour (Granny Smith)
  • apple pie spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.)
  • Package of low-sugar apple and cinnamon oatmeal
  • 4 ounces low-fat cream cheese.
  • sugar-free or low-fat caramel

Instructions

      Prepare the pie crust by thoroughly coating it with butter spray. Place it in an oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. Take it out to let it cool, but leave the oven on.

      Peel and slice the apples no more than 1/4 inch thick. Place them in a large mixing bowl. Add the pudding mix and 1 cup of milk. Season to taste with the apple pie seasoning, and add the Splenda. Mix thoroughly. Let the mix sit for a few minutes to season the apples.

      Prepare the caramel and cream cheese. Cut the cream cheese into cubes, add the 1/8 cup of milk and a half cup of caramel in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on medium power until mixture is very soft. With a fork, mix it together.

      Assemble the pie. Add the apple mixture to the pie and cover with the cream cheese and caramel mix. Cover the add the oatmeal evenly to the top of the pie as a top crust. Spray the top of the oatmeal with butter flavored cooking spray to moisten it.

      Bake the pie. The pie should bake for approximately 45 minutes (or until the pudding begins to boil) at 350 degrees. After the pie bakes and cools, top with more caramel if you wish.
