It's time to be a father to your children, to show that you not only are willing to spend time with them, but that you have their best interests in mind much further down the road. This idea was inspired by the man with a dream for his children. So learn from your mistakes and be a father to the kids you bring in to this earth. Anyone can produce a child but it takes strong character to raise that child.

    Be A Father

  1. Step 1

Dream with your child. Play pretend, go on journeys together. Cursed with subjectivity, we can't help but feel stupid as we play with a kid unless we maintain the facade that "I'm just doing this to humor him." It takes a confident man to actually allow himself to play honestly with a child. Come up with adventures, play the role that's given to you, and be prepared to look stupid.

  2. Step 2

Teach your child. Discipline an punishment are some of the hardest parts of being a Dad, but are arguably the most important. Lay down the rules with a clear understanding of what happens when those rules are broken. With proper affection and praise for not breaking the rules, a child will learn to behave, not for fear of being punished, but out of respect for you.

  3. Step 3

Educate your kid. Learning is everywhere, read to her every night, ask questions about why she thinks it rains, or the sun rises. Be prepared to answer questions as well. Young kids have active minds that can comprehend a lot more than we give them credit for. Utilize that and you will be setting her up for success throughout her school life.

  4. Step 4

Save money. Always put aside a money for your child's future. Showing that you care enough to prepare your kid for the best life possible, even after you may be gone, is one of the greatest things a father can do. Even if it means tightening your belt now, saving for college will always be worth it.
