How to Avoid a Former Spouse

Sometimes a newlywed will receive a surprise after saying I do, when a few months into the new marriage they suddenly find their partner’s former spouse is a bit insane. Sometimes your own former spouse is nothing but a troublemaker. Either way, the following steps will help you keep a former spouse in his place.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Talk to her only when necessary. Divorced women are usually not looking for a friend in their former spouse’s new woman. Instead, they are usually looking to cause problems.
Step2
Beware if she wants to be your friend. Remember, she isn’t really your friend and befriending her may very well cause your new spouse to feel insecure.
Step3
Don’t listen to stories of their marriage or their divorce. This will only create a problem with your new spouse which could lead to potential disaster.
Step4
Don’t tell him stories about your new marriage. The marriage is none of his business and it’s best to keep the new relationship private.
Step5
Don’t divulge marital information, especially your sexual relationship or finances. A sure way to get a second divorce is to reveal such private matters to a former spouse.
Step6
If you find you can get along with the former spouse that’s fine; but never forget who you’re talking to.
