Things You'll Need:
- Several Plastic Pots
- Potting Soil
- Herb Seeds or Seedlings
- Plant Markers
- Water
-
Step 1
Plan your garden spot. Depending on the climate in your area, herbal tea gardens can be grown either indoors or outdoors. If choosing to plant outdoors, ensure the final frost has passed before beginning your herbal tea garden.
-
Step 2
Prepare your pots. Fill one plastic pot with soil for each type of herb you are growing in your herbal tea garden. The soil should be filled to a level just below the top edge of the pot.
-
Step 3
Plant the seeds or seedlings. Each herb will have different planting instructions, but many herbal tea seeds will only need a light covering of soil and water sparingly. Seedlings, on the other hand, should be planted far enough in the soil to cover the root growth.
-
Step 4
Add sunlight and water. Herbal tea seeds need to be watered very lightly until the plant has had a chance to set firm roots. Seedlings need to be watered daily lightly or every other day. Expose indoor plants to direct sunlight every day. If moving outdoors, gradually allow the plants to get used to the outdoor environment by placing the plants outdoors for several hours a day over a period of 2 weeks.
