Now that the holidays are over, it is normal to feel a bit blue and let down. Cold weather and large credit card balances simply add to the January malaise. Here is how to survive without letting it get to you.
Put away the holiday decorations quickly, so they aren't a constant reminder of bygone festivities.
Step2
Make sure you know what your card balances are and what you need to do to bring them current. If you have a plan, you will feel better about your financial position.
Step3
Call at least one old friend per night to keep the blues away.
Step4
Make it a new habit to listen to a motivational tape or read some of a motivational book every morning before tackling your day. Anything by Brian Tracy or Anthony Robbins works wonders.
Step5
Read a joke book or listen to a comedy CD during your lunch hour or in the evenings. Humor works wonders in chasing the blues away!
Tips & Warnings
Make a budget and stick to it if the holidays have left you financially in less than pristine shape.
Try not to beat yourself up if you spent too much or gained too much weight. Set up a new budget and exercise plan, and vow to do better next year.
