So you've finished writing your first inspirational romance (a romance with a Christian theme) and now you're eager to send it off to publishers. There's only one problem--you don't know how to find those publishers. Here are some tips for finding publishers, bringing you one step closer to publication.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sally Stuart's Christian Writer's Market Guide
  • Computer with internet
  • Paper
  • Stamps
  • Envelopes
  1. Step 1

Purchase a copy of Sally Stuart's Christian Writer's Market Guide. In this guide you will find a list of companies that publish not only inspirational romance, but all kinds of Christian writing.

  2. Step 2

Use the library. If you're unable to buy a copy of the Christian market guide, check and see if your local library has it or can order it for you.

  3. Step 3

Check out your favorite books. Do you have some inspirational romances on your book shelf? Check the spine and the copyright page inside the book to find the publisher. There may be a publisher website listed inside the book. If not, you can do an internet search for that particular publisher. Many publishers now have their guidelines posted on the web or an address where you can request a copy of the guidelines.

  4. Step 4

Join a writer's group. Both American Christian Fiction Writers and Romance Writers of America have market listings, not only on their sites, but in their newsletters too. Markets are often spotlighted at their conferences. Attending the conferences gives you a chance not only to attend spotlight workshops, but to interact with editors and find out what they are really looking for.

on 6/26/2009 Good advice. christianwriters.com is a good online resource for publishing information, as well. And you'll make some great writer friends over there too! :)
