How to Play Portal
Portal is a whole new class of First Person Shooter game that comes packaged with "The Orange Box" from Valve. A combination of the famous Half Life engine and a unique puzzle game, Portal will have you scratching your brain for solutions to some very interesting puzzles and this game ALONE is worth the money you'll pay for The Orange Box! So gear up and get ready for some testing!

Listen to the dialog. Without giving away any spoilers, let's just say that the dialog in Portal has some of the most hilarious dark humor you'll ever hear in a video game!

Stay out of the water. It looks dangerous and while looks can be deceiving, they aren't in this case. Falling into the water is instant death.

Study the puzzle and take your time. None of the puzzles are time-sensitive, so take your time and make sure you've got everything right before you move ahead. What first looks to be a suitable solution may prove to be anything but.

Make sure you stay in the rear arc of the white gun drones. They won't be able to track you if you stay to the far side or behind them. You use either knock them out of the way with a box, or pick them up and drop them to deactivate them. Don't worry, once they've been deactivated, they won't reactivate. Just make sure they fall on their sides; if you drop them straight down, there's a chance they'll stay standing.

Remember all the lessons you learned during the initial testing; you'll need them later.

Try some of the challenge levels when you're done with the story mode. There are a ton of extra-hard levels for you to try, all of which will be moderately more difficult than the story mode. Many are attached to Achievements, so if you like earning them, give the challenge levels a shot!

Tips & Warnings
Hold boxes in front of you to deflect bullets from gun drones.
Put a portal under the final boss; its easier than putting one on the wall.
Play Half Life 2: Episode 2. There are some references in there to Portal.
