Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1

Listen to the dialog. Without giving away any spoilers, let’s just say that the dialog in Portal has some of the most hilarious dark humor you’ll ever hear in a video game!

Step2

Stay out of the water. It looks dangerous and while looks can be deceiving, they aren’t in this case. Falling into the water is instant death.

Step3

Study the puzzle and take your time. None of the puzzles are time-sensitive, so take your time and make sure you’ve got everything right before you move ahead. What first looks to be a suitable solution may prove to be anything but.

Step4

Make sure you stay in the rear arc of the white gun drones. They won’t be able to track you if you stay to the far side or behind them. You use either knock them out of the way with a box, or pick them up and drop them to deactivate them. Don’t worry, once they’ve been deactivated, they won’t reactivate. Just make sure they fall on their sides; if you drop them straight down, there’s a chance they’ll stay standing.

Step5

Remember all the lessons you learned during the initial testing; you’ll need them later.

Step6

Try some of the challenge levels when you’re done with the story mode. There are a ton of extra-hard levels for you to try, all of which will be moderately more difficult than the story mode. Many are attached to Achievements, so if you like earning them, give the challenge levels a shot!
