How to Raise a Bum.

As parents, we have the power to raise wholesome honorable citizens, or......bums. Most parents would rather raise a self supporting, dependable, energetic off spring. By reading through this article you will be reminded of several poor parenting techniques that may contribute to the under achievement of a child. Read though the list and try to avoid the ones you think may hinder your child's development. As always, my prayer for you and your loved ones is to remain healthy and safe, become wealthy, and grow wiser.

Things You’ll Need:

• A child
• Money to burn
• Little spare time
• No quality time
• Poor role models

1. Give your child everything that he or she wants.
   Don't insist on your child doing chores for allowance money.
   Clean up after your child.
   Cater to your child's wants and desires.
   Allow your child to have temper fits.
   Allow your child to be disrespectful to you and talk back.
   Beat up on your child regularly.
   Tear down your child's self respect.
2. Never spend quality time with your child.
   Never talk to your child.
   Never listen to your child.
   Never do the things 'your child' wants to do.
   Send your child to his or her friends' house, seldom having his or her friends over.
3. Be a poor role model.
   Be a weak parent.
   Allow your child to be mistreated by others.
   Don't show your child respect.
   Follow this parenting philosophy: "Don't do as I do, do as I say."
   Try to cover up your sins. (A child can see the truth.)
4. Never look over your child's homework.
   Don't be involved in your child's school.
   Keep your nose in the TV.
   Put your interests before your child's.
   Push your child to do the things you always wanted to do, and didn't, or couldn't, like play on that baseball team when he or she doesn't want to.
   Never read to your child.
   Never take your child to church.

Tips & Warnings

• A child should be treated with respect, and 'shown' how to behave and do what is expected, not told. A good role model, however, is not enough. To raise a wholesome, honorable citizen takes quality time, patience and a parent who cares more for the child than his or her own selfish interests.
