How to Paint a Sun Design on a Ceramic Pitcher

Add some bright sunshine to your favorite ceramic pitcher to go with your morning orange juice. What a great way to start your day.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• White ceramic pitcher
• Cleaning fluid
• Cloth
• Tracing paper
• Hard and soft pencils
• Scissors
• Masking tape
• Acrylic china paints
• Fine artist paintbrush
• Hairdryer

1. Clean the pitcher to make sure there is no grease on it. Choose your sun photo and trace it. Cut it out roughly and then rub the soft pencil across the back. Make cuts around the edge of the circle so that it will lay flat on the pitcher.
2. Tape the template to the pitcher and draw over the outlines with a hard pencil to transfer the design. Remove the template and go over the outline with blackpaint and allow to dry. A hairdryer may speed this process up.
3. Paint the rest of the design and let dry. Set it following the manufacturer's instructions.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not use in the dishwasher after painting.
