      Bring 1 pint of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of chopped shepherd's purse to the boiling water, allowing the mixture to steep for 30 minutes.

      Strain and add 1 tablespoon of the liquid to a 1/3 cup of water. Drink it a few times a day. This will help to regulate flow and relieve cramps.

      Also, some say that taking 1 tablespoon black strap molasses a day helps to aid heavy menstruation. Many add the black strap molasses to their favorite drink, such as coffee, tea and juice.
